Normal condensate
As the unit extracts heat from air, moisture condenses on the coil and drains away. On humid coastal mornings this can be a surprising amount of water. It should exit through a drain point, away from walls and electrical equipment.

Genuine water leaks
Water from unions, the pressure relief valve, the heat exchanger or the cylinder itself is system water and needs repair. Pool heat pump leaks can lose significant volumes quickly.

Why it matters
Water tracking into electrical enclosures is the leading cause of the earth leakage trips we attend. A small leak left alone frequently becomes an electrical fault.
