Can a heat pump work with my existing geyser?

Frequently yes, provided the cylinder is sound and correctly rated and there is a suitable outdoor position with good airflow within a reasonable pipe run. We confirm this on site before quoting.

What size heat pump do I need?

Sizing comes from occupancy, number of bathrooms, when hot water is used and how much simultaneous demand there is — not from floor area. We assess this and put the recommendation in writing.

How long does a heat pump installation take?

A straightforward domestic retrofit is usually completed within a day. Replacing a cylinder, adding electrical capacity or commercial plant work takes longer, and we confirm the schedule in the quotation.

Do I keep the geyser element as backup?

Usually yes. Retaining the element gives you cover for unusual demand and for any period the heat pump is out of service, and it allows sensible sizing rather than oversizing.
